Colors of Spring: Louis Vuitton Cruise 2011 for Ladies
If you have noticed, the Cruise 2011 Louis Vuitton collection for ladies can be best described as a mish-mash of elements from the 50s, 60s and 70s, with a style that's nostalgic and yet modern at the same time. Drawing influences from Miami's Art Deco vibe, Marc Jacobs' magical touch seems to be working again. Either that, or I'm just happy to see so many floral and bright pastel colors in the collection.
Without any exception, every new collection comes with a new range of bags, and in the case of the Cruise 2011 line-up, there is the Louis Vuitton Monogram Sabina collection. Made from weaved raffia jacquard, the collection consists of 3 different styles, including the tote (two sizes, GM and PM), a shoulder bag and a smaller pochette.
And since I love all things canvas and jute, these are certainly interesting though honestly it may not be to everyone's taste. Still, these will sell, especially to hardcore fans who just need to possess every single bag in Louis Vuitton's repertoire.
Another new bag I am pretty fond of is this deep purplish-blue that will be part of Monogram Vernis' collection for the next year. I'm not sure of the color's official name as yet, but doesn't the shade just look stunning on the Alma bag? Two other new colors are also available for this, including a creamy pearlescent white and a dark mocha brown.
And to round up the collection, some of my favorite pieces include the floral heels, sunglasses with pearl chain, bandeaus in the prettiest shades and jewelry that resemble striped rock candy. And we believe the fashion house has got more for us to expect.
